Breaking lease early

Jennah (Calgary)

When we gave our landlord 3 months notice of breaking our lease 1 month early she had no problems with it. She is now wanting to keep our full damage deposit plus wanting us to pay another month rent. She never said this in the 3 months prior to us leaving but now once we are moved out she has kept the damage deposit and is now trying to get another months rent. We understand leaving early that our damage deposit could be taken and we understand that but can she legally force us to pay another month
