Civil Law- General

Solitaire (Edmonton)

Hello,
I’m seeking legal coaching or limited scope assistance regarding a dispute with the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation Band Council. As a single parent, I began working on a Customary Election Code project after verbal approval from multiple councillors and the Band Manager. I attended meetings at their invitation and after meeting with the Band Manager on May 26, I submitted a full documentation package the next day—including a work summary, detailed timeline, invoice, and budget. I completed several weeks of work involving travel, planning, research, and engagement at my own cost, but I have not received any payment or response. I have thorough evidence, including emails, call logs, meeting notes, and project deliverables.
Could you provide guidance on whether this situation is suitable for unbundled legal help or coaching? Or could you refer me to someone experienced in civil breach of contract cases involving Indigenous governance? I’m hoping to recover compensation and understand my legal options.
Thank you.
