Severance Pay

Bernie S (Calgary)

I was recently terminated without cause after 10.5 months of employment. I requested my one week severance pay and was told I had signed an Employment Contract. The Employment Contract says that I waive compensation that I may have in accordance to common law rights.
I had No recollection of signing any contract. I asked that a copy of the signed contract be sent to me. It was sent via email. Upon inspection of it, the Hiring Manager that signed it has forged my signature. The capital S in her name (very distinctive) is exactly the same as the capital S in my last name. So either I have forged her signature!!!, or she has forged mine. I’m wanting to know how this showed be approached as I want my one week severance pay I’m legally entitled to and I also want to know how this forgery should be addressed.
Thank you
