Visiting time with my daughter.

Clarence Williams (Medicine Hat)

I had court the 18th of October In which the matter was held over till the 21st of November But the judge ordered that day that I would get 2 visits with my daughter in between the court dates In the court order, the judge stated that I could see my daughter as long I provide a negative drug test To the mother And I did that because I am in a program with Alberta health services that I have to give a drug test every so often so I provided her 8 months of clean drug test The clinic that I go to wrote a letter and all documents for her.the mother Is saying that I cannot see my daughter? Because she wants a hair drug test My court order doesn't say that it just says a drug test I guess my question is what do I do. I'm supposed to see my daughter tomorrow At her volleyball tournament.
The mother won't let me go. But what should I do?

I believe a mother is unreasonable in withholding you from seeing your daughter at her volleyball tournament and not taking her home. Next time, when you appear in the court get clear directions from the Judge.

The mother is not likely to get a warm reception from the Judge next time you attend court if she does not facilitate parenting time as ordered. Next time in Court, ask for makeup time for the parenting time you missed and/or a monetary penalty for any travel costs incurred. Also request a Police Enforcement Clause be added to your Order. Also verify the drug test needed. Urine tests are not that useful as drugs clear the system within 3 days or so. But if you took RANDOM urine tests, that is more useful. Also, if you are in treatment, that should help. If you can get a hair follicle test (they are expensive like $400) do so; and if negative, request a term of order that the Mother pay for it forthwith. Sorry this happened to you but get a comprehensive order in the future.
