Beneficiary in a Will

Elizabeth (Lethbridge )

I would like to know how to go about finalizing a Will where I am named as an equal beneficiary regarding three people? The executor is the sister of the deceased and hired an estate lawyer who won’t answer my emails and the beneficiary has not communicated with me since just under 4 years now. Just to be more specific, there was no residential/commercial properties, just an abundance of assets. I do believe there is a law under Wills & Estates re a number of my issues listed as Executor Misconduct?

You should reach out to the estate lawyer and advise if you do not hear back from them, you will call the Law Society. You have rights as the beneficiary of the Will.

Thank you Reena - I have tried and they ignore me and won’t return my messages. I have also complained to the Law Society of Alberts & I was told that the Executor can almost do whatever she wants and I’m sure the letter is still in my email but they told me it’s not up to the estate lawyer to monitor what she does. This is why I’m reaching out because I can’t afford a lawyer and there’s fraud involved. I just asked for copies of AB bills of sales that only had the deceased’s signature and she signed everything over to herself and sold it all and kept a bike for herself. I wanted to take the copies with various original signatures to a forensic signature expert. She also gave away to his friends anything they wanted but the two of us were allowed anywhere near where she had it all stored.

Hi Reena - I was informed of this same method and went through my whole case and how the executor sold off everything that was supposed to split - she said he had signed a bunch of blank bills of sales and she took it upon herself to fill her name and sold the assets. The Law Society told me there’s not much they could do for me so try yo work with them. I can’t work with the estate lawyer as they do not ever acknowledge my calls or emails.
