I was just pulled over in the city of medicine hat. The officer gave the reason for my stop as a license, registration insurance and sobriety check when I asked him for the reason for the stop, he repeated it was for a license registration and sobriety check. my question is this a reasonable ground for a stop in Alberta, or is this harassment and overreach by the city police to give people breathalyzer checks without reasonable cause?
