spousal support

Natalie (Edmonton)

What is the process (and estimated cost) to go to court to get spousal support increased once the children are all adults?

I'm not sure why the 'without spousal support' table wasn't used in the first place, since 2 of the 3 kids were adults by the time the whole thing was settled anyway. The 'custodial payer' tables were used in this 70/30 split scenario, but there was never child support payable under this because their income was too low to have anything payable

The difference between these two calculators is around $2500-3,000 a month.

If there was even one dependent child then the proper table was used. Not sure what you mean by 70/30 split scenario...is this parenting time? If there was no funds for child support, then where would there be income for spousal support? Your email is unclear.

I strongly recommend that you speak to a lawyer in a setting protected by solicitor/client privilege to obtain advice specific to your situation. Nobody can predict how much any court application will cost without a lot more details, which are best discussed in private.
